Orange Belt Requirements

All members must be prepared to demonstrate full understanding of the techniques listed below, and possess the capability to fully execute movements under stress. Members must also be able to demonstrate a full understanding of related Krav Maga principles.

PREREQUISITES TO GREEN BELT TEST: Minimum of six months training and 60 classes completed following attainment of Yellow Belt. It is required for any belt test to wear KMU top and bottom — both can be purchased in our Pro Shop.

I. STAND-UP

  • Short Range Combatives
  • Hook punch
  • Uppercut punch
  • Long Range Combatives
  • Defensive front kick
  • Side kick & advance
  • Back kick & advance
  • Offensive back kick – short range, long range
  • Advancing groin kick
  • Combative Combinations
  • Focus mitts

  • Slipping and bobbing
  • Inside defense w/ counters against – left, right
  • Cross body defense with counter
  • Defend hook punch
  • Defend uppercut punch
  • 360 defenses with counters
  • Defend Kicks
  • Defend groin kick – leg redirect
  • Defend groin kick – arm sweep
  • Defend groin kick – outside stabbing
  • Defend low round kick – absorb, check
  • Defend front kick to body – outside stabbing
  • Defend front kick to body – forearm redirect
  • Defend developing kick – heel stomp
  • Defend Chokes
  • Front choke against wall
  • Rear choke against wall
  • Rear choke pulled
  • Defend Headlocks
  • Headlock from behind
  • Headlock from side
  • Defend Grabs
  • Front bear hug arms free, attacker’s head – on center (space), on shoulder (no space)

II. GROUND FIGHTING

  • Ground: Mount
  • Top position – striking, exiting
  • Bottom position – defend punches (buck)
  • Bottom position – trap & roll
  • Bottom position – shrimp to guard
  • Bottom position – shrimp to slide-out
  • Bottom position – defend headlock
  • Ground: Guard
  • Top position – exiting
  • Bottom position – kick-off
  • Ground: Feet Held by Standing Attacker
  • One foot held in place
  • One foot held & spun either direction
  • Both feet held

III.TRANSITIONS

  • Back fall break
  • Side fall break
  • Forward fall break
  • Defend takedown – sprawl
  • Arm drag from A-frame
  • Snap down from A-frame
  • Defend knee grab or low bear hug
